Chris Peterson

Co Founder, Utah Wildlife Walls

Principal, Chris Peterson Studio LLC

Chris Peterson grew up in the foothills of Timpanogos along Utah’s Wasatch Front. He studied painting at BYU and Kansas City Art Institute and​ graduate studies at the University of Utah earned Chris an M.P.A. in Nonprofit Management & Environmental Policy and an M.S. in Environmental Humanities focusing on conflict resolution and leadership development. His organizational career included Colorado River restoration, tribal coalition-building, charter school co-founding, leadership development, teaching K-6 art, rural development humanitarian work in Africa and Asia and directing the westside Sorenson Unity Center for Salt Lake City Corp.

​Since 2009, Chris has been designing and facilitating community arts and youth-centered park visioning projects. In 2017, he was commissioned to install a 45 foot jaguar mural, inspiring him to restart his studio practice to refine his painting and design processes around wildlife concepts. Chris is the principal of Chris Peterson Studio LLC, based in Holladay, Utah

Brett Prettyman

Co-Founder, Utah Wildlife Walls

Board Chair, Utah Wildlife Federation

A Utah native, Brett has spent his life enjoying the amazing landscapes and ample wildlife of the state. He has spent his career working to educate the public about wildlife issues, spending 25 years as the outdoors/environment editor at the Salt Lake Tribune, and now as a communications director for Trout Unlimited. Brett is the author of Fishing Utah, among other titles, and collected two Emmy Awards for his work with the Utah Bucket List television program. He has been a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America since 1992 and is a past president of the organization. Brett currently serves as chair of the executive board for Reel Recovery, a national nonprofit providing free fly-fishing retreats for men with cancer. He also serves on the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation advisory committee. Brett lives in Salt Lake with his wife and three children.
